A love letter to the woman on the edge of becoming who she desires.....
Let’s just get this out there:
You are not the same person you were a year ago.
Or five years ago.
Or even five minutes ago.
And thank goodness for that.
We weren’t meant to stay the same. As women — as humans — we are constantly growing, shifting, and becoming. Every day, whether we realize it or not, we are evolving into the next version of ourselves. The version that’s a little wiser. A little braver. A little softer in the places that used to be all edge, and stronger in the places we used to hide.
There’s this quiet myth a lot of us have swallowed somewhere along the way — that we’re supposed to “figure it all out,” and then just... stay there. Stay consistent. Stay small. Stay safe. But here’s the truth: staying the same isn’t safety. It’s stagnancy. And stagnancy isn’t an option when you’ve come this far and still have miles to go.
Because you weren’t made to stay stuck.
You were made to become.
Becoming isn’t always loud or visible. Sometimes it looks like setting a boundary you once avoided. Sometimes it’s the tiny act of putting yourself back on your own to-do list. Sometimes it’s walking away from what no longer fits — or walking toward something that scares the hell out of you but feels too aligned to ignore.
You’re becoming every time you choose growth over comfort. Every time you let go of what no longer serves you. Every time you say, “I don’t know what’s next, but I know it can’t be this.”
And here’s what I need you to hear today:
That version of you you’re working toward?..................
She’s already within you.
She’s not some distant goal you have to earn. She’s you — underneath the fear, the stories, the conditioning, the tiredness, the guilt,
the “I’m not enough's." She’s just waiting for permission.
The woman you’re becoming… she’s not perfect, but she’s powerful.
Not finished, but already worthy.
Not who she once was — and my goodness, thank God for that.
So if you’re in a season of shift — of shedding, of reimagining, of rebuilding — take a breath and let it land: You’re not lost. You’re in motion. And even if it feels messy, even if it’s hard, even if you can’t see what’s ahead — you are still on your way. Becoming is rarely graceful, but it’s always sacred.
Let this be your reminder:
You are allowed to grow.
You are allowed to change.
You are allowed to take up space in your own evolution.
You don’t owe anyone the version of you they once knew.
Not your past. Not your critics. Not even your own inner voice that sometimes wants to pull you back into comfort.
Who you are now is already worthy — and who you’re becoming?
She’s going to blow your mind.
Final Thoughts from Robyn Barkley Photography in Bonita Springs, FL:
So many of the women who step into my studio are in the middle of becoming. Some are rediscovering themselves after motherhood. Some are healing from heartbreak or trauma. Some are finally ready to say, “This is for me.” And let me tell you — the version of you that chooses to be seen, celebrated, and captured in her power? She is unstoppable.
If this message resonated with you, maybe it’s time to honor this version of you — right here, right now. Not once you “lose the weight” or “feel ready.” But as you are. In your becoming.
Because she is already enough.
And she deserves to be seen.
